Beaconsfield Private Estate Garden Maintenance

Beaconsfield Private Estate Garden Maintenance

Hortlands maintain a stunning private estate in Beaconsfield, comprising a collection of large detached properties alongside a block of luxury apartments. Our team is responsible for maintaining the formal estate gardens, roadways and front gardens, ensuring the entire development is presented to an exceptional standard throughout the year.

For residents and property owners, keeping the estate looking immaculate is extremely important. The estate is overseen by a board of directors representing the collective interests of the property owners, making consistency, reliability and attention to detail essential.

Hortlands work with a wide range of private estates and understand the importance of balancing the individual needs of residents with the overall appearance of the development. Our experienced team follows a carefully managed maintenance programme, ensuring the gardens and grounds remain uniform, well-presented and beautifully maintained.

Lawn Maintenance

We cut the lawns once weekly between the months of March and October. We feed all formal lawns quarterly following a site specific lawn health plan to make sure they stay looking there absolute best.

If needed we treat weed and pest problems throughout the year on an ad-hoc basis. We scarify and aerate the lawns annually, and keep the lawns cut to a specific height that has been requested by the estate.

Hard Standings

We clear all hard standing areas every visit ensuring no debris is left and any weed growth is removed. We do our best to prevent weeds establishing by applying herbicide to all the hard standings twice a year, including spot spraying every month. All chemical spraying is always carried out by members of the team who have obtained their PA1/PA6 and wear full PPE. We then use our trusty Avant machine, with the brush attachment once per annum to sweep out all the curb edgings.

Trees, Hedges & Topiary

All specimen trees, hedges and topiary are pruned as and when required, and in accordance with good horticultural practice. This ensures the specimens are looking their best all year round. We apply pesticide and fungicide as a preventative measure in April, July and September and apply contact treatments if any problems arise at any time of the year. We also monitor and adjust the irrigation system when on site to ensure its always in the best working order.

This estate has a vast amount of buxus hedge, we kept it looking neat and tidy and only cut in accordance to the specification given. Its important to monitor Buxus for blight at all times and we always act upon what we see. The Taxus is clipped regularly to make sure its kept to its uniform shape. A drench feed is carried out on them to improve foliage density, this is especially important in the walled garden. Prunus Lucitanica is trimmed to the approved height and monitored for vine weevil activity. Then all 232 meters is drench feed to improve foliage density.
