PROVEN EXPERTISE
We understand the time, thought and attention to detail that goes into creating a beautiful garden design. Choosing the right landscape contractor is an important part of ensuring that vision becomes a reality.
Our role is to make that process as straightforward as possible.
We work closely with designers throughout the construction process, combining their creative vision with our practical knowledge of landscaping, horticulture, materials and installation.
From advising on buildability and site logistics to managing the construction and final planting, our experienced teams understand the importance of getting the details right.
Whether you are looking for a reliable contractor to deliver an entire scheme or specialist support for a particular element, we would love to hear about your project.
Our greatest strength is our people.
Hortlands has dedicated teams of skilled landscapers, planting specialists, irrigation engineers and horticulturalists, all working together to deliver outstanding gardens.
By employing our own teams, we maintain greater control over the quality of our work, site management and communication throughout a project.
Our landscapers take pride in their craftsmanship and understand that every detail matters, from the foundations beneath a terrace to the final planting of a garden border.
Having the right machinery and equipment available is essential when delivering complex landscape projects.
Hortlands invests in its own specialist equipment, machinery and transport, operated by experienced staff who understand the demands of landscape construction.
This gives us greater flexibility when planning projects, coordinating deliveries and undertaking challenging installations, without relying entirely on external hire and availability.
Our nursery facilities are one of the things that make Hortlands different.
With locations in Buckinghamshire and the Cotswolds, Hortlands Nursery provides access to an extensive range of mature trees, instant hedging, shrubs and plants, alongside the facilities to receive and hold stock ahead of installation.
For designers working on larger projects, this can be particularly valuable. We can coordinate plant deliveries around construction programmes, reducing the pressure of having everything arrive on site at once.
We are also happy to discuss receiving and holding plants purchased through your own preferred suppliers, giving you the freedom to source specific specimens while benefiting from our nursery facilities and delivery services.
Where suitable, we can also arrange for stock to be containerised in preparation for summer planting.
Finding the right plants is an important part of bringing a design together.
Our dedicated nursery team sources mature trees, hedging and specialist plants from growers throughout the UK and Europe, with experienced staff managing the arrangements for importing plants and materials from overseas.
Whether you require a particular specimen tree, a substantial quantity of established hedging or a complete planting schedule, our team can help source and coordinate the stock required.
We can also work with you and your clients to select individual specimens from specialist European nurseries.
With specialist equipment, transport and years of practical experience, we can manage the logistics and installation of large trees that require careful planning and handling.
We understand the importance of correct planting techniques, soil preparation, drainage and aftercare to give valuable mature specimens the best possible start.
