Hortlands were consulted on the regeneration of a large yew hedge which had succumbed to damage from deer and poor pruning.
We recommended a treatment programme which included the fortnightly application of a deer deterrent spray. This has allowed the bottom of the hedge to recover safely whilst keeping the deer away from the hedge.
Hortlands started a high nitrogen feeding plan to promote as much new healthy hedge growth as possible. Once the additional growth has progressed we can begin the process of slowly reshaping the hedges.
