This large-scale project of 1500 square meters of reclaimed Yorkstone was used to create a combination of patios, garden walkways and steps. The reclaimed Yorkstone was laid on a full bed of mortar, this is always our recommended way of working with Yorkstone as it makes for a much stronger base. A traditional pointing method was then used, this method takes longer but gives an undeniably better finish.
Reclaimed Yorkstone verses new Yorkstone
Reclaimed Yorkstone paving is made from Yorkstone that has been salvaged from older buildings or structures. It is similar to new Yorkstone paving in terms of its natural variations in color and texture, but it may have more signs of wear and tear due to its previous use. The reclaimed yorkstone is still a beautiful and durable option for outdoor spaces, but it may have more character and charm than new Yorkstone because of its history. It is also considered to be more environmentally friendly as it is recycled material.
